What if God was one of us

I wrote the book above because I am convinced that most of us tend to put God in a box. I have shared about the box I often put Him in. That box is labeled “Old Testament.” Thus, the picture that conjured up in my mind was that He was cold, distant, and unapproachable. The God in my box would say, if He could talk, “I’m keeping a close eye on you, buster.”

I love the 1995 song “One of Us,” sung by June Osborne, because it speaks to the fact that we put God in a box. The song encourages us to reflect on our perception of God, as does my book. The lyrics ask the listener to imagine encountering God daily and consider how we would respond to such a situation. I hope this is the message you will find through reading my book.
